Source of the Nile River in Jinja
It is here in Jinja where the historical Nile river starts its journey to North Africa. This was confirmed in 1858 when John Speke discovered that the source of the Nile was in Jinja. There is a landmark at the point where the waters leave Lake Victoria through a depression/gorge before spreading out and turning into what is called the River Nile.
