Namasagali Pier in Kamuli, Jinja
The Namasagali Pier is situated on River Nile, about 25 kilometers West of Kamuli town. In the 1940s Namasagali was a railway station along the Uganda Railway’s extension to northern Uganda.
About 50 kilometres downstream from here is Lake Kyoga. A steamship also operated along this river route and the crane was used to load and unload cargo.
When the railway station fell into disuse in the late 1960s, some British Catholic missionaries came up with the ingenious idea of turning the buildings into a secondary school that became Namasagali College.
